The 20-COMM-E is an Ethernet Communication adapter, intended to be used with PowerFlex 70 and 700 series drives. This option adapter enables any PowerFlex drive to connect to Ethernet communication network for monitoring and control functions.

The 20-COMM-E provides Ethernet connectivity with selectable speeds of 10 Mbps Full Duplex, 10 Mbps Half Duplex, 100 Mbps Full Duplex, and 100 Mbps Half Duplex. It is capable of accepting up to Thirty (30) TCP connections or Sixteen (16) simultaneous CIP connections including One (1) exclusive-owner I/O connection. It has a Request Packet Interval (RPI) rate of 5ms, minimum wherein Up to 400 total I/O packets per second (200 in and 200 out) can be handled.

This communication adapter is compliant with UL508C, CAN / CSA C22.2 No. 14-M91, EN50178 and EN61800-3, EN61800-3 specifications. The adapter’s environmental specifications include operating temperature of -10…50 °C (14…122 °F) and storage temperature of 40…85 °C (-40…185 °F) with relative humidity requirement of 5…95% non-condensing. This adapter is not suitable for installation in an environment where the ambient atmosphere has presence of volatile or corrosive gas, vapors or dust.
