The B&R 5C5001.3 is a controller system unit designed for industrial within the Provit 5000 architecture. It serves as the central computing platform that interfaces with modular bus units, I/O cards, expansion modules, and peripherals to implement PLC, HMI, and process control tasks. Built around industry‑standard CPU and chipset technologies (compatible with Intel Celeron or Pentium processors in similar Provit 5000 units), the system unit provides interfaces for serial communication, parallel ports, USB, keyboard/mouse, display output, and Ethernet connectivity. It supports RAM expansion via DIMM sockets and offers boot and BIOS functionality for system software and applications.
