The 150-F625NBE controller is a powerful SMC-Flex series solid-state controller. It is a 625 Amps rated device that is applicable to large hoisting, conveying, pressing, and drilling machines. It has an open (IP 00) enclosure and it should be mechanically protected and only used indoors. The input line voltage acceptable for this device is from 200 to 460 Volts AC. At the maximum input voltage, this controller delivers 500 Horsepower at the output terminals. The most common application of the 150-F625NBE controller involves soft motor starting. This starting method begins by applying the initial torque that is defined by the user (0 to 90% of the locked rotor torque). After reaching this initial torque level, the output voltage is increased in steps to the final value. The acceleration ramp time determines how big these steps will be. When the nominal motor speed is achieved, the built-in bypass contactor is activated to connect the motor to the line voltage. In this way, the internal losses and heat dissipation of the device are reduced.
