The 1762-MM1 is a Memory Module.  This is an accessory for a controller.  Every PLC from  is shipped with a memory module port cover.  The user can remove the cover, align the pins of the memory module and firmly seat the 1762-MM1 memory module.  This module supports removal and insertion under power, so the installment procedure can be executed at any time.  This can be done without risk of damage to either the controller or to the memory module.  The 1762-MM1 memory module provides a simple way to transport program data from the PLC controller.  This can be done only with one user program at a time.  The controller’s RUN LED will flash during data transfer to or from memory module.

The other useful feature of this 1762-MM1 module is to provide application security.  The user can set the controller not to perform program execution if the program stored in the memory module does not match the program in the PLC.  Protection is also increased through a data file download protection.  In this way, the data can be saved (not overwritten) during a download.  The 1762-MM1 memory module is designed to operate at 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures and it can be stored at -40 to 60 degrees Celsius (-40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures.  This product is UL listed and has the CE mark (approved for installation within the European Union and EEA regions).
