The 1769-ASCII has a power supply distance rating of 4 modules. This means that the module must be installed not more that Four (4) modules away from the 1769 CompactLogix Power Supply. It is backplane powered and may connect to any adjacent module including the 1769 CompactLogix Controller. In a MicroLogix system, the module is installed beside the base unit or to an adjacent 1769 Compact module. In both instances, the module does not require an external power supply.
The 1769-ASCII is a 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 compatible module. This specialty provides connection to devices that supports American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) protocol. Typical devices that utilize this protocol are Barcode Readers which are commonly installed in factory automation applications. |
