The 2198-CAPMOD-2240 module is a capacitor module from the Kinetix 5700 series that is manufactured by / Automation. It is an accessory module for the Kinetix 5700 drives, and it is compatible with any drive system from the Kinetix 5700 series that is configured with DC bus power supplies, regenerative bus supplies, or with 8720MC-RPS power supplies.
The 2198-CAPMOD-2240 capacitor module can be used to store energy, to extend the DC bus voltage to other inverter clusters, or as a connection point for an external active shunt module. This capacitor module can be used in systems that have external DC bus current ratings of less than 104 Amps, but if it is used in a parallel setup with itself or with a different accessory module, it can handle a current of up to 208 Amps.
