The PXIe-8360 (Part Number: 779700-01, 194402F-01) is a high-performance Remote Control Module in the MXI-Express x1 Series by National Instruments.  The NI PXIe-8360 comes with an MXI-Express interface, which enables the user to carry out various advanced measurements, including the control of PXI and CompactPCI systems.  This control operation is carried out with the help of a PC.  The PC makes use of the MXI-Express link.  This link is totally transparent and is controlled through software without any programming required.  The system can be configure with the PXI platform Services Software and the Measurement & Explorer (MAX) tool.  The PXIe-8360 also includes two LEDs, which inform the user about the different states of operation of the module.  These operations include the power supply status and link state of the module.

The NI PXIe-8360 can be utilized with a PCIe 8362 board and another PXIe 8360 module to control two PXI Express systems at the same time.  However, it is not possible for the NI PXIe-8360 module to daisy chain numerous PXI Express chassis.
