The GE VMIVME-2536-200000 is a 32-channel optically coupled digital input/output (I/O) board designed for VMEbus systems. This board allows isolation of digital I/O through optical coupling, which provides high electrical isolation between the field I/O signals and the VME backplane, thus improving system robustness and protection against transients.
The VMIVME-2536-200000 is capable of high isolation (sustained 1 kV, higher for pulses), and supports multiple data width transfers (8-, 16-, 32-bit) on the VME bus. It adheres to standard VMEbus addressing (A16 or A24) and supports both standard and short I/O addressing. On power-up or reset, the module enters test mode by default, which requires proper initialization of output registers to avoid undefined output behavior.
