The 21000 and 24701 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are designed for use in hazardous environments and are CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved. These housings are explosion-proof, making them suitable for hazardous area applications, including intrinsically safe environments. Available in aluminum (21000) and stainless steel (24701) versions, these housings comply with CSA Type 4 enclosure standards, ensuring reliable protection against environmental factors. They are fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard, which defines the requirements for externally mounted proximity probe housings.
For applications with space constraints, the 164818 Compact Proximity Probe Housing is available, offering a more compact solution without compromising performance. Ceramic-capped probes are also available for use with the 164818 housing.
The sleeve length of the probe is crucial, as it must be longer than the probe lead. In cases where the sleeve length exceeds 304 mm (12 inches), additional support is required to minimize vibration caused by unsupported long sleeves. Bently Nevada provides a probe support and oil seal (part number 37948-01) for long sleeves that need to pass through an inner bearing housing. Custom sleeve supports are also available to meet specific application needs.
