The Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a specialized, low-frequency version of the standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor, designed to measure casing vibration velocity in cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies. This transducer is specifically engineered to operate at frequencies associated with cooling fan systems that typically run at or above 90 rpm, with the most common range being 100 to 300 rpm.
Due to its unique design, the Velomitor CT can accurately capture vibration amplitudes at these operational frequencies, as well as those generated by the fan motor and speed reducer. This capability allows for effective monitoring of vibrations across various mechanical components, which is essential for condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance of cooling systems. The sensor's ability to measure low-frequency vibrations ensures reliable performance in industrial environments, helping detect early signs of mechanical issues such as imbalance, misalignment, or wear, thus preventing costly breakdowns.
