The Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a specialized low-frequency version of the standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Designed specifically for measuring casing vibration velocity, it is ideal for use in cooling tower and air-cooled heat exchanger fan assemblies that typically operate at 100 to 300 rpm, but it can handle systems running at or above 90 rpm.
This transducer is capable of detecting vibration amplitudes at these operational frequencies, as well as the vibrations generated by the fan motor and speed reducer. By monitoring these vibrations, it helps in identifying potential issues such as unbalance or misalignment in the fan system.
For optimal installation, Bently Nevada offers engineering services upon request. These services can assist in identifying the correct machine housing measurements and provide guidance on proper installation to ensure the transducer functions effectively.
